Synergy Button Set for Leopard

Original Tabbed Style One of the tiny little annoyances with the upgrade to Leopard, was that Synergy, a great little application that provides control of iTunes from the menu bar, looked a little unpolished when using my favourite ‘Tabbed’ style interface.

One Week With Leopard

MacOS X 10.5 Leopard Box Probably the second biggest change for me this last week after that of my new job (especially given the amount of time I spend on my Mac) is the upgrade to MacOS X 10.5 ‘Leopard’. Sadly this hasn’t been a totally enjoyable experience given a number of well documented UI flaws, as well as the usual slew of bugs you’d expect in a debut release.

Not sure about the Apple Store

Two weeks ago I purchased a new PowerMac G5. Whilst I was sensible enough to wait until the updated machines were announced (pre-loaded with Tiger), I by-passed my usual pre purchase research and headed straight for the nearest and newest Apple Store and quickly found myself a black t-shirted sales assistant (flown in to help from a store in the States).

Update: Apple Store Birmingham

Doors of the new Apple Store in Birmingham Further to this post last year, and the announcement of a new Apple Store in Birmingham, today I saw the site of the new store in Birmingham’s Bullring shopping centre.

It looks like quite a small store is planned which is a shame, but it does have a location just beyond the main entrance from New Street/High Street, so it least it will be highly visible.

Shades of 1984

iMac G5 Apple today announced it’s 3rd generation iMac. Keeping to the all-in-one form factor, this revision sees the LCD screen mounted alongside the G5 powered CPU and other hardware, mounted on one leg - reminiscent of the recently released Apple Cinema displays.

I can’t help but notice similarities to the original Macintosh of 1984 - well from the front, certainly not from it’s 2” side!
