Running Kind

Unfortunately, and unlike the previous three years, I will not be participating in this years Great North Run. Hopefully, it won’t be too long before I again take on the gruelling challenge that is running from Newcastle to South Shields. Although it is painful, it is always a great deal of fun.

However two friends of mine, will be running for worthy charities in the coming weeks, so I would just like to add a few words of support, and perhaps even help them gain some extra sponsorships in the process.

Ed Lawrence

Ed Lawrance is running for the Motor Neurone Disease Association

Formerly a victim of many office pranks (usually instigated by myself), Ed will be running the Great North Run on Sunday, October 1st, and is hoping to raise £500 for Simone’s Tribute Fund. This is the same charity I ran for earlier this year in Manchester, and raised £350 (and again, a big thank-you to all those that supported me).

Mike Robertson

Mike Robertson is running for the charity Crisis

As October draws to a close, another friend of mine, whom I first met during my month in Australia a few years back, will be running the Dublin Marathon in aid of the homeless charity, Crisis. Having run only half-marathons myself, I have a lot of respect for a guy who can run 26 miles, before taking in a local museum or two.

You can sponsor Mike online too, at: www.justgiving.com/mikerobertson

Best of luck to both runners!

I really find it hard to pause for a while from the usual things that I do. Hmm, I wonder why you aren't running this time. :) Anyway, I extend all my support to all your friends. It's a great way to show compassion and participation for a great worthy cause.
